Pro Tools License Cant Be Activated on iLok

ok so, i didnt know exactly what to name the title, im here on behalf of a friend of mine since he doesnt know english very much and im helping him out with this issue...
he thought he lost his iLok key and he did for a couple of days, and since we go to school for audio productions i told him to deactivate it that way no one who finds it starts using his license, and so he could use PT with the cloud service in the meantime, and so we did, but then a couple days after he found it while cleaning his house, and now since we contacted iLok and told them to deactivate that ilok and the licenses in it, the ilok Key cant be used and the pro tools license in his account cannot be transfered to the ilok...

we contacted ilok, they said we have to contact avid since the problem has to be dealt with from their end by replacing the disabled license with another one

if this has happened to anyone would someone please guide me on what to do and where to go

avid.force.com/pkb/articles/faq/Lost-Stolen-or-Broken-iLok-Policy explains the steps you can follow to get licenses replaced.

Part of iLok's RMA process is that a lost/stolen iLok gets permanently disabled (this is stated on the page when submitting the RMA) so replacement licenses could be activated to a new iLok or iLok Cloud if supported by that license/software.

so, that ilok that was reported lost, is absolutely gone and irreversible, and the only way to make that specific license work is either by using the cloud service or buying a new ilok dongle and putting the license on it
