New collaboration of Avid and Apogee
After a certain time of kinda estrangement between Avid and Apogee
they seem to have found together again obviously . http://www.apogeedigital.com/product...s-duet-quartet They seem to be official partners again and Apogee is offering new, updated versions of the Duet and the Quartet in a bundle with Pro Tools 11. http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/PTQuartet http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/PTDuet You now even can find the Duet and the Quartet on top of the Avid hardware site. http://www.avid.com/DE/products/pro-...rdware-Options IMO these both brands were and are a great combination, for me personally and from my experience these are the absolute top brands particularly regarding audio quality. I personally replaced my 003R with a Quartet 2 years ago and added a Duet later for my mobile system and I definitely can confirm the exceptional sound quality of both which is outstanding in their particular price range. The driver issues I also had been experiencing for a while seem to have been solved, I don´t have any problems anymore. In addition I expect Apogee to bring out new drivers soon as they also have updated both devices for the new collaboration. Anyway the Quartet is a fantastic piece of gear in combination with Pro Tools 11, working flawlessly here, is super stable and sounding amazingly well. A real recommendation for the use with PT11 if there´s no need for many preamps. On the other hand 4 very good quality mic preamps are build in, 8 further could be connected via Adat. That´s not bad either. The Duet is a high quality tool for small mobile applications, for mixing on the road for example. Finally it´s good to see these both great brands work together again. Good for us users and I´m looking forward to seeing future cool gear for the use with Pro Tools from Apogee. All the best everyone, cheers, VRW MacMini i7Quad, 16GB Ram, MBP Mid 2012 2,5GHz i5, 16GB Ram, MacOS 10.9.4, Apogee Quartet+Duet 2, Genelec Active, Yamaha NS10, Pro Tools 11.2.1, Logic 10.0.7, Waves, MCDSP, Duende Native, Softube, HOFA, IK Multimedia etc |
