Default New Build Fever - X99/LGA2011-3

Guys is anyone using this board and or this socket for a protools build?

How is it running?
Are you happy with the board/build/features?
This has an included TB3 card with the board, how does it work?

ASUS X99 DELUXE ii

CPU
Intel Xeon E5-2695V4 Broadwell-EP 2.1 GHz 18 core

I am not going to pay that much don't worry.

Running that motherboard here(actually one level below that one) with an i7 6800K and 32GB of DDR4 in quad-channel mode. Pretty darn stellar I have the thunderbolt option card as well but have yet to actually use it for anything(just trying to be "future-proof") 18 cores!!!

My man....sounds sweet.

Just trying to be forward thinking and avoid any compatibility issues.

Thanks Dave for the input

So it was a noticeable jump from the i7-3930k?

Actually, it wasn't that big of a boost, but the old rig was giving me some issues, and since I was looking at a total rebuild of the drive, I decided to do it on a new machine at the same time(old motherboard failed) instead of having to do it all over again in a year(yes, I am lazy)

I can get E5's 2xxx v4 series chips for about $600

But I think the 6900k looks pretty good also. (Actually a little better in most scores)

Broadwell (6900) is where it's at, my Sandy Bridge chips (3930k and E5-2687W) are getting long in the tooth

Ordered.

X99 Deluxe ii
i7-6850k
16gb 2400 DDR4
Old Video Card.

I am stoked......

I will probably get a M2 Samsung SSD - Those things are crazy fast.
The Board has a M2 slot and 2 U2 slots.

Super stoked.

$902 was the damage.

I'm using an Asrock Z270 Extreme 4 1151 with a Intel i7 7700 Kaby Lake 3.6 Ghz. And 16 GB of ram. I have great performance.

Just got win10pro installed on the M.2 drive.

It was easier than messing with the cloned backup.

Good things ahead.

Just an update....I really really like my new build.

Still haven't OC'd the 6850k yet.....but I am happy and Win10 is quite quick and stable.
