Default Re: 12.8.2 - access violation errors

I have Access violations galore and hangs on initializing databases on first start-up. Also have random blue screens and hangs. Criminal bit of software. I could only attach 5 pictures to this post, there are more.

...not to mention the laggy response when dragging faders. Avoid 12.8.2 like the plague.

Just an update. First, changing buffer settings had no effect. Second, I just rebuilt my system and did a clean install on Windows 10 Pro, and very quickly got the same ol' access violation errors. So any question about it being somehow related to my specific system and installation is gone. It's a 12.8.2 Windows bug.

Yes. Same problem here but I’m on Win 7. I will report it.

Thanks hugely for doing due diligence and enduring all that pain, I had to just move on with 12.8.1 because of work. Obviously I won't be doing any further PT updates until this nasty little bugger is fixed, but the good news is that 12.8.1 is 99.7% stable - just the odd "video engine cannot be stopped" very occasionally and -9173 very very occasionally.

I have the same problem. Reinstalling PT does not help.

I'm getting this error while moving audio clips around. It's a small session, too.

I've found no rhyme or reason as to when it shows up. Small projects, big projects, sometimes early in an edit session, sometimes not at all. Hope they're working on it.
