Artist Mix, some help with EQ workflow please

Hi there,

I have had the artist mix for some time. I still can't get it quite right for EQing my dialogue tracks very well. Hoping for some help and input from users.

I turn off automation and loop my region so I can EQ notches etc, usually using channel strip or EQ3. It works in the most part however with channel strip there is no option to switch low band to shelf/bell, can't switch filters in and out via the artist and also with EQ3 there are other paramaters that don't seem to change. Is this normal? It just interupts the workflow and is frustrating having to go back to the mouse.

Secondly is there a way of setting up a soft key or button on the mix that when I press it will go to a certain bank of 8 faders? For example, when mixing, I like to have 3 VCAs, my M+E bus, Music Bus, VO and 2 others I'm forgetting in that bank. Can I press a button to quickly switch to this bank after I finish making an edit or adjusting a sound effect to quickly switch back to my mixing bank?
