I don't think MKII is the death of the Eleven Rack. The hardware still offers many advantages, especially for tracking, over using a plugin for tracking.

Because the 11R will be doing all the guitar effects while tracking, you should be able to get a better feel and less latency than tracking through a plugin in many cases - but especially when you already have several plugins on several tracks, and/or when you are using a computer that is not loaded with CPU power and ram.

Also with the Eleven Rack, you can just turn it on and play, no need to turn your computer ON, or open up your DAW.

Now when it comes to mixing, I think MKII or any other amp sim plug that you like will have the advantage for ease of changing tones without having to send the signal back out and in.

11r hardware also has (fixed) latency just like PT has (variable) latency. As long as it (latency) doesn't bother you, you won't even notice.

10 years ago one could have an argument that it is nice to save CPU cycles. Today, mmh...

It is just a live-worthy interface for 11 plugin :)

They are excellent. A bit bulky if you don't need all the extra stuff is has, but the preamp is the ISA preamp and it is just fine for almost anything. A classic. A studio standard. Buy with confidence. I have no idea what to do with one of them right now, but for 1500 I would snag it in a heartbeat - and if nothing else sell it with profit.

Bear in mind those boxes also have headphone interface so it's a two-way solution

Does anyone know if there will be an update to the firmware on the 11R that will come with these additions? I'd be more than happy to pay for this if I could use the extra stuff on my 11R.

Tack Johan

I bought both as it was too good to pass on. 3000Sek for both which is $341.86 so That was a no brainer. Thanks again for the info. We have a RED1,RED5 and the RED7 aswell as ISA430 with Producer apck and a ISA428 whoch is never used unfortunately so I would bet these ISA ONE pair won't see much action either but as you said, we will try and use them otherwise I believe they can see a 100-150 dollar return Both MINT!

Sorry for the derail, back to the topich ELEVEN MK2!

Thanks Janne aswell for the info on these puppies

I have 11R and the expansion pack. I am trying to figure out if there is much difference between the expansion pack and Eleven MKII software. If anyone knows this please reply, thanks!
