Default Ethernet operation

A silly question, maybe, but can Venue be operated witout a surface attached if using a laptop and ethernet?

Hi Roland,

Yes, in theory. You'll need a console connected initially though, in order to access the VGA monitor connection to turn on the ECx (Ethernet Control) option and configure the settings. Oh, and definitely use a fixed IP address (not DHCP), so the console always has the same IP address.

now, in theory - you could make a breakout cable from the console connection multipin on the FOH/MixRack to give you a VGA connection, since AFAIK these are discrete pins on the multipin. This would elminate the need for a console to use the Venue in this manner
