Default Copying plugins from one channel to another causes a pause.

When trying to copy a plug-in from one track to another in PT9 it causes protools to pause the audio for a second, just like when you change an output or add a bus...

any help?

Really no help for that.. PT9 does that.. Actually, depending on the plug, any version does it but PT9 seems to do it with all plugs when others versions didn't...

yea its weird... very annoying. I remember PT 8 hardly ever did that except with limiters and other memory hoging plug ins.

Hopefully avid-design can can fix this problem.

Inserting, copying plug-ins and sends does indeed pause the transport to ensure critical connections are made. Sample clocks, mixer connections, automation snapshot data all needs to be updated and delivered to the engine when changing the mixer chain. New tracks, duplicate tracks, etc. as well contribute to the need to pause and restart the transport. This "on-the-fly" scenario is not an issue to "fix." Perhaps in the future more transparent performance can be achieved.

Hi Tim.. Thanks for the explanation; thing is, in the past, it was achieved; it is weird how with every new release something always gets taking away.. Maybe simple things u guys think, but important being that 1 gets in habits of workflows & now hav to change the whole bit because of 1 small thing that was takin away...

The future ain't what it used to be

I suspect the deleyin PT9 is the Automatic Delay Compesation engine adjusting things under the hood. Also a short delay is a whole lot better then a blast of white noise or other digital grit. Not saying it can't be improved upon.

True. Maybe we're all getting a tad impatient(as I stand in front of the microwave, thinking...."COME ON ALREADY")
