Re: PT11 & AAX DSP :: Good Times
There are a lot of uneducated posters on these forums… and I think they create a lot of confusion for those who are visiting to learn about PT, AAX and DSP.
VI and Plug makers such as Izotope, Spectrasonics, Air etc. will most likely be AAX Native only as they have never been DSP to start with… and no one is expecting them to be. I don't understand why Waves is still being discussed as they said they will make their plugs AAX Native… However, no DSP since they are developing a dedicated DSP box of their own… obviously to be able to compete with UA better. Many of the major Plug and VI developers have already released or are working on porting over to AAX Native and or DSP in the near future. It is also important to understand that there are quite a few developers who are tackling to port over to 64bit let alone AAX. Yes, it will take longer for some but they eventually will.
