Default Access violation during auto-save

Hey all,

Having some issues with my XPsp3 PC at work, that seem to have appeared just this week. Updated to 8.0.3cs2, deleted databases, prefs, etc. Ran Windows Update and got all of the latest .NET framework updates, security updates... everything. IE still at 6.

Still can't seem to sus out the problem... but it seems to happen in my MIDI heavy sessions, but it doesn't seem to be exclusive to any particular plugin. so I've included a Sandra and a screenshot of the proposed error. Any suggestions are welcome!

http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/1710/errorfda.jpg

Btw, all drives are definitely set to Write.

SiSoftware Sandra

Good Mornz Dtism...

That is mainly due to ram getting jammed up from the VI's etc.

I've had that happen a few times even in 7.4 so it isn't relevant any to 8 @ all...

So definitely with 2.75g some memory is gettin hosed with lots of Midi going on because not only the VI's eat the ram, but midi info itself does jus as well...

plus I see u have ur OS drive partitioned with the sessions on it; U kno that is the same as the OS drive still rite?

Get me,,,,Get me though

Sunofa.... I did not even notice that before!

I didn't partition these drives, they came this way when I started here. Man, the guy who I replaced REALLY didn't know what he was doing...

I fresh formatted the C drive on my first day, but I totally never noticed the session partition was on the same drive. Guess it's time for some disk management.

I'm gonna talk to my tech guy, see if I can order a 3rd drive for my sessions.

Btw: is there a way to access the rest of my RAM that XP clearly isn't seeing without upgrading the OS?

Haven't done much with this computer yet, only been working here for about a month and a half.

Everything was going well for a while, I only started running into these errors in the last week. Did every possible Windows update I could find today, and it seems to be a bit more stable. Currently migrating my files between partitions to see if that helps a bit, too. Gonna get a 3rd drive hopefully today, but not counting on it.

I'll try doing some memory optimizations if I get some time.

Thanks again, Keymaster!

Did the 3GB switcherooo, switched the partitions around and everything is running a whole lot smoother with no crashes as of yet!

...it does remind me why I have a Mac at home though.

But after a bit of tweaking, everything seems to be rockin'!

If ever we meet, you are indebted to plenty o' Fruit Snax!
