Default Locate to Markers, set auto punch in/out points

Hi, I'm a newby to PT, coming from many years and experience with DP. I'm looking for explicit instructions on setting punch in/out points manually, and retaining them for use when wanted (and not losing them by clicking outside of highlighted areas!), and the method(s) for dropping markers, and locating to them quickly during a session. Many thanks for any and all help, Mark.
