Bounce to Movie crashing

PT9 crashes after I bounce to quicktime MOVIE.


Why is this? Let me know or point me to a thread.

That is impossible to determine without more information.

*Type of codec used (ProRes, DVCPRO, DV, H.264, etc.)
*Version of Pro Tools
*Are you using TL Space TDM?
*How much RAM

To be succinct, we need more info.

I have a Quicktime movie track and an audio track.
audio is routed to ADAT 1-2 (my Apogee Rosetta 800).
I have MASTER track set up sending to ADAT 1-2.

I select Bounce to QT Movie.
Select Bounce Source as ADAT 1-2

It plays through the track as it bounces. It converts files, then CRASH.

Up pops a page that says "Pro Tools quit unexpectedly.... This report will be sent to Apple automatically...." and then a whole bunch of tech info.

On the destination drive it leaves an empty .mov file and two crazily named wave files ( such as pwgg[bleep][bleep][bleep]JxyfyFVSW.wav).

Might try this if you have not yet.
Repair Permissions after quitting everything.. Repair Directories using Disk Warrior V.4.2 or 4.3. Trash all your Protools Prefs, DAE Prefs, Volumes folders, I use ProTools Pref and Database Helper Shareware. Works great.
Usually when I have an issue like this, which is rare, it's because after an update, it's because I did not do this. You will have to set up your preferences in Protools again, but it's not that hard to do.
