PT 3.42 slow loading
I'm running PT 3.42 on a 9600 with a newer technology g3/400 upgrade, OS 9.0 and 128 megs of ram. When I launch pro tools it races half way through the start up, then stops on each plug in for at least 15 seconds each, then when it starts to read the audio files, resumes the proper speed. It also has the same slow down when I use an insert, taking up to 30 seconds.
Thanks in advance for any help Sean King [email protected] |

Re: PT 3.42 slow loading
PT 3.42 is not compatible with OS 9, so it's amazing that you're getting it to load at all. Also, I would think that 128 Mb is on the low side for running PT and OS 9. You might not have enough memory allocated to DAE.

Re: PT 3.42 slow loading
I'm assuming that you are running the DAE 3.4.2cs, since the old one won't work with OS9 at all...
But you seem to be having PACE problems, that's my guess. Try taking out all third party plug ins, and add them back one at a time. Keep in mind that every time you change what's in the plug in folder, it takes longer to launch the next time - but it won't take 15 seconds on each plug in! If it's still bad with just the Digi core plug ins, try with just the digi mixer. I'm pretty sure you'll track it down. DC |
