1. Under Movie select import Audio from other movie.
2 Select the trac you wish to import.
3. Select Convert
4. Now selectdesk top in the menu at top of the windowand click save.
Wait while "importing movie" happens.
5. Then a new window opens up "select tracks to import"
6. Now you need to choose the destination folder that the track will reside. Select your session folder then the audio files folder for the session
7. Select choose and wait.
Onece the files are processed they will apear in the Audio bin at the right of the scree. probally labeled Track 1. Left and Right, Drag them into the edit widow, and have a drink on me
Peace

5.0 was a little different.

But, with the above instructions, (later version) choose: option after you assigned the folder where you want the converted 'track 1' to go. Change the word length to 24 bit.

Important- 9.1 and higher has no 'CD AUDIO' player. But, the CD will play from the DVD player. Itune will play it also.

I have installed a system 9.04 CD Audio player to 9.1. Not sure yet if it's compatible w/ PTs. BUT, at least I was able to turn 'OFF' autoplay (on the CD Player)

That is a problem which might cause a crash, if PTs is open.\

Best of luck,

..the only caveat.. this function relies on QuickTime.. so you have to have a current version of QT if you find it doen't work on your system.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">I'm not sure what difference you're thinking about, but the import audio function is NOT a PTLE function, is it a Mac OS function that works with Quicktime.

If you use Logic Audio for example, you can call this exact same function. I still use PTLE 5.0 and it works as described.

P-Loc,

To make it easier.. do you own Toast..? If so, search your drives for Toast Audio Extractor.. use that to extract the audio from the CD.. then in PT use Import Audio.

If your Pro Tools session that you're importing the CD audio into is 24 bits, then in the Import Audio dialog you'll have to convert the 16 bit CD files to 24 bits (it just pads the data).

Notefarm gave you step by step instructions.. what's not working for you?
