PT9 / LYNX AES16e - Loud noise when changing outputs
Hello,
I am setting up my new system, and I've discovered a really frustrating problem. I am using a Mac Pro 8-Core, PT 9.0.1, Lynx AES16e, x2 Lucid 88192 converters. When I change the outputs for a PT track while audio is playing, the audio routes properly to the new set of outputs, but leaves a LOUD feedback type noise on the outputs that the track was previously routed to. When I stop the playback, the audio track stops, but this "stuck" feedback sound continues playing. The only way I am able to stop this noise if by: - Quitting Pro Tools - Making ANY adjustment in the Playback Engine (HW Buffer, Host Proc., CPU useage, etc.) As soon as I make an adjustment, the noise stops, and playback resumes normally upon the play command. UPDATE: PROBLEM SOLVED!!! I figured out the problem, but though it would be beneficial to post the solution for other users having this issue. I disabled the "Host Engine" option in the Playback Engine window - and the problem went away. Perhaps that is already a recommended optimization step - if so I apologize. But if I had this issue, someone else is bound to have it as well. Good luck! |
