Default 8.0.1 in W7/64. Possible?

Anyone try this? My Native Instruments Pro-53 Plug DOES NOT WORK in 8.0.4. (which is on my laptop w/Win7/64). I'm still using XP on my Desktop (which has 8.0.1). It says that 8.0.4 is the FIRST to be able to run on W7/64. Has anyone been able to get 8.0.1 to run on Win7/64?

I seem to remember there were users who had some success with USB devices and Win 7, prior to the beta release. Firewire devices were a no go. I don't remember if that was 64 bit though. Hopefully someone smarter will happen by.
