trouble importing audio to logic
I'm having issues with importing audio into Logic. I have a snare track in Pro Tools that I want to use logic to generate a midi map for. The tempo in Pro Tools is 95, I exported the audio to the desktop, when importing to Logic it changes the tempo to 120. It seems it does this with all the audio that I import, it's weird, how can I import audio into logic and it just leave it how it is?
I've tried searching the internet and I can't find anything on this problem, really need to get this sorted. If I change the tempo of logic it changes the length of the audio file, like it's locked to the timeline, I don't want that. |

Re: trouble importing audio to logic
If you detailed your solution (and I am assuming that you realized what was going on), It would help others who have made the same mistake. Thats why we are here, right?

Re: trouble importing audio to logic
Of course, that's a good idea. The problem was a bit of confusion on my part, it was late at night, 2am here in the UK.
The problem I was having was when importing the snare audio track into logic, generating a midi file, and then importing this midi file into Pro Tools was that the midi file was longer than the audio track in Pro Tools, but was the same length as the audio track that was in logic. So it wasn't lining up in Pro Tools as I needed it too. The reason was this, my tempo in Pro Tools was 95bpm, when opening a new session in Logic the tempo was 120bpm, to create a midi file the same length as the audio I had to change the bpm in Logic to 95, when I did this the length of audio appeared to get shorter. When changing the bpm in Pro Tools, the audio that you can see remains the same size, the timeline bar changes. In Logic everything you can see changes, if you decrease the bpm, it sort of expands the whole edit window so you can see more bars, the audio appears to get shorter, it doesn't, it just zooms out. So to fix my problem, after changing the bpm in logic down to 95, and realising that the audio wasn't changing (I thought that because it was changing in length, the speed of the audio was being affected), after creating a midi file of the audio, importing it back into Pro Tools, it was the correct length. Problem solved, I hope that made sense. |
