It seems like everyone is pretty confident that we'll see an announcement at AES for PT 8.5. The big question is wondering whether that release will take care of the driver problems we're all having at this point. It's been a full quarter after "official" x64 compatibility without accurate audio placement on Windows.

I really love PT. I'm losing faith, though.

I can't say I'm too impressed with the latest update either... but I have a feeling it was pushed out in a rush to solve at least, some of the problem.

Btw... 8.5 IS being announced at AES. It's being released alongside HD|Native. It's on the Avid website, and the user manual for Native is labeled for PT8.5.

I don't know whether anyone else has communicated with Avid directly (through CSA) about this problem, but their reply indicated that the only problem they're aware of is a 45 sample latency happening at all buffer settings/sample rates, with LLM on or off.

So, if you've got different results than this (as I do), it would behoove all of us to contact Avid with our results, so we can ensure this bug gets fixed.

We still have the 44 sample delay here, and we're hoping for a driver/software fix announcement as well.

Well this is bizarre.

I just installed 8.0.4cs2 on my other (older) computer, and I've now got 1 sample of latency on the analog inputs and 22 samples of "EARLY-ancy" on the SPDIF inputs.

I'm going to use this computer (C2Duo) for tracking until the new driver comes out.

Hello all!

Amidst the PT9 hype, here is a little bump for this thread.

I am on W7, 64-bit, on 8.0.4cs2, with the new Avid Mbox3. I'm dealing with a 12 sample EARLY sound placement on the timeline. Here is a link to a png file of my session.

I'm going out of town for work for a bit, so hopefully we will get a nice juicy CS release in the next 2 weeks. Help us Avid! :)
