Default Hum at XMON´s mini speakers outputs

Hi everyone.

I´m recently involved with a D-Control installation. We have all the audio connections of the Xmon in bantam patchbays. We´ve checked every cable at the Talkback/Listenback connector, but we keep listening a hum noise at the Mini Speakers outputs, no matter what signal we route to these, and no matter what kind of speaker we use, balanced or unbalanced input. We don´t detect any similar noise in any other output.
I remember a year ago i had a similar problem with another XMON, but then it was with a D-Command.

We can´t find the solution, so i´ve searched the forums and all the documentation i have, but there´s nothing about this issue, not even a clue.

Someone out there with a similar problem who could help me?

Thanks in advance and best regards

tricky things those hums and hard to impossible to say from a distance where the problem is.

If you checked every cable, including the snakes going from the X mon to the patch then I guess at some point you should try another X mon if you want to be sure there's a problem or not with it. I would be tempted to break it down ... possibly try a snake hooked up directly to the speakers - thus bypassing the patch - with nothing else connected to the X mon, to see if the hum persists.

Thanks for your reply Chris

We finally found some electrical problems at the speakers, that at first we thought came from the XMon output, due to the seminormalization of the patch pannel. When we gave it a closer look we managed to solve it.

XMon seems to be fine now.
