PT2019.12 - Cursor not visible, timeline blank, no highlight audio on click

Hi,

Thanks for your time.

I was running PT2018 and Application Manager until about a week ago. I then upgraded to Link and PT2019.12.

PT2019.12 opened fine and so I loaded a session. The session plays and records back but there are a few issues:

• Cursor not visible: you can't see the line of the cursor when you click somewhere but it willl then play from that point
• Timeline blank: there are no bars, minutes, tempo or markers increments - just blank line where they usually are
• No highlight audio on click: I can move audio around but it doesn't highlight

Actions so far:

• Searched DUC and Google, couldn't find similar issue
• I reinstalled PT2019.12
• I installed PT2019.10 - produced errors on load and so I uninstalled
• I ran normal Windows updates
• Checked my optimisations per 'Help Us Help You' and performed troubleshooting like clearing preferences, etc.
• I reinstalled PT2019.12 - opened fine but same issue as first list above

That's an odd problem!

My first guess would be a possible issue with the video card and/or drivers. Maybe check to see if there are any updated drivers and/or uninstall/reinstall the video card drivers.

Do the missing elements appear if you change the display resolution?

It is quite weird. Thanks for the tips.

I checked and reinstalled drivers to no avail. The resolution didn't change anything either.

I contacted Avid who are now looking into it. I've downgraded to 2019.6 for now.
