outboard reverb and effects using the aux sends and inputs
Question: When in low latency monitoring mode my reverbs that I hear during playback do not end up bounced to the final file. Why?
When I take it out of low latency monitoring my reverbs do end up in the bounced file, but It creates timming problems with the verb, it's not as musical and late ect.... Solutions?? I'm running on the beta 32tx 5.2.1 version. thanks allan chadwick achadwick.com |

Re: outboard reverb and effects using the aux sends and inputs
try printing the reverb to a new track and then nudging it back til it is in time. when you send to an external reverb, you get the latency both out to the unit and back in.. at 1024 buffer size that can add up..

AUX channels will not bounce in Low Latency mode.
Its just the way it works...or rather, doesnt work. |

Re: outboard reverb and effects using the aux sends and inputs
If you use external fx, on an aux track, and send a little vocal to it. Then you get your vocal sounding right, and you try and print that track.
What steps do you use? Last night my mix did not bounce with my external reverb. So I tried printing my vocal with the reverb on it, and that did not work either. Basically what I did was. I set up my external reverb on i/o 7 and 8. Created a stero aux track, and set the inputs to the aux tack as bus 1-2. I then put the MIDIVERB I/O insert of 7-8 on the aux channel. I then created a send from my vox track to bus 1-2, and adjusted the level of the send to taste, and my vox sounded great. When I bounced to disk, no VERB.?! So I tried printing the vox to another track with the VERB on ot allready, just commit to it, so I create an audio track next to my vocal. I make the inputs on the new audi track correspond with the outputs of my original vocal track, and hit record. Well the new track recorded the vox, but still with no VERB. Re: outboard reverb and effects using the aux sends and inputs
Keep the Vox on it's own track anfd print a track of JUST the verb. Create a new audio track and set the inputs to bus 1-2 (your midiverb) Then just arm the track and playback. Make sure your midiverb is set to 100% wet and then record just the wet reverb.

UNCLEMURRAY, Thanks!
I never thought about trying that. So they take, and nudge back the actual reverb track, and it brings things back into phase. Interesting! |
