Re: Shift + fader sets level to 0db
Hmmm... that's the first I've heard of using option/alt + fader. How does it work better?
I'd give it a try, but I'm not jumping through all the hoops. Besides, my Mac Pro NICS are bonded, with EUCON on a dedicated VLAN. And, in their infinite wisdom, Avid has specifically blocked those protocols. The latest version that works on my system is v3.0.1. That's where I'm staying - until Avid pulls a rabbit out of their hat or I throw in the towel and sell my Artist Series. |

Shift + fader sets level to 0db
Try..it's the same as option/click on fader in mix window. It goes to 0db. Just hold down the option key and touch fader on the artist mix.

Re: Shift + fader sets level to 0db
I'm sorry, I don't understand.
How does the feature work better exactly if you use the computer keyboard? I'm sitting on my living room couch doing clean install of Mavericks on my backup laptop as I write this. (Mavericks because there has been a lot of Bugs in Yosemite Networking) I'm doing it just to make sure that there is no system component around that might create problems with EuCon. Also, I was under the impression that the latest Firmware is 1.42?? |

Re: Shift + fader sets level to 0db
Do you mean that you prefer to use the keyboard equivalent, or that the "Shift + fader" is less reliable?

Using the shift key on the artist mix is less reliable, have a look at the video.

Re: Shift + fader sets level to 0db
Ok thanks a lot.
Sorry to bother you, but could you do the same with the Shift button of the Artist Mix? I think I didn't see you displaying the "Shift + fader sets level to 0db" feature in the video at all? Last edited by alaiho; 03-26-2015 at 12:05 PM. Reason: Clarifying |

Shift + fader sets level to 0db
Here you go:)
There are some problems using the shift button+fader on the artist mix. But if you press alt/option key and the touch the fader it jumps to 0db. http://youtu.be/EEZ87x1oCio http://youtu.be/fUeuAiErYxY |

Re: Shift + fader sets level to 0db
That is what I am requesting Avid to look into.
My workflow consists of mainly live acts. half the time I'm performing live, otherwise I'm working as a live sound technician. The McMix works as the interface for my 18-channel rack DSP mixer through witch I route microphones, outputs, digital systems, and so called DAW-channels. I routinely set the desired level of a track to "unity gain" after setting the levels in sound check, so that I can utilise the "Shift + fader sets level to 0db" feature of EuCon. It is very important that the functionality works 100% of time. |
