Re: good studio moniters for 003
lol... so does anyone have a pair of adam a7s or a bluesky 2.1 media desk system? those are my two considerations right now. the blue sky is cool cause you can upgrade it to 5.1 surround. ive been told adams are really good quality. Im working in a small room, mixing all types of music... thanks

Re: good studio moniters for 003
Dynaudio BM5A's $1000 a pair,
Blue Sky Media Desk $500 for a 2.1 set-up / $1000 for a 5.1 KRK V8 $350 each My 2 cents. -Chris |

Re: good studio moniters for 003
I used to use Blue Sky but found their tweeters to be very shrill and hyped. I haven't heard the Adam monitors but again, everyone has their own preferences.

Re: good studio moniters for 003
I own the 2.1 blueskys, and I love them. I find that they translate very well and they sound great in just about any size room. I have never used the 5.1 upgrade, but it is just 3 of the same sats and an amp so how different could they be? The BM5a are nice as well but iI found them in need of a sub for some styles(heavy rock/hip hop).

Re: good studio moniters for 003
Exactly. Start small and spend some time with those monitors. Later on, you'll have the understanding necessary to decide whether to upgrade to higher speakers or not. Some speakers are more accurate than others but the perfect monitors don't really exist.
I started with the KRK V6 several years ago not because I liked them but because that was all I could afford. Nowadays, I am still not crazy about them but I spent so much time listening and mixing with the V6s that they have become some sort of reference for me. I like 2-way monitors with 6-inch woofers and no sub for mixing but as you saw from other posts, some folks prefer big guns. And thats a matter of taste, really. Good luck. |
