Visual C++ Runtime Errors

Hello all..


I was fooling with some software the other day that required the installation of some Visual C++ runtime libraries. After installing these libraries, PTLE 5.3.1 will not open- it gives me a Visual C++ Runtime error. I was wondering if anyone knew which version of the C++ runtime files PTLE 5.3.1 needs? Digi?

That's interesting. I have MS Visual Studio 6 installed on both of my PTLE machines, and there is no problem with either machine. One runs PTLE 5.3.1, and the other runs 5.3.3. Maybe I don't have the same libraries installed that caused your problem?

Which version of Visual C++ are you using, and which libraries did you install that seemed to cause the problem?

I'd like to see if I can reproduce your problem if I can. I'm just beginning to learn C++ in college, so I'm no expert, but I do like to experiment and try new things.

I think he meant that he replaced his rundll and rundll32 components.. and now when he runs Pro Tools he gets a crash which is described as a "C++ Runtime error".

This is correct... anyone want to send me some rundll and rundll32 from a Windows XP SP1 system?

My XP installation only has rundll32.exe

i go a runtime error with a recently saved project file! (saved properly without errors)
all other project files are still working

is there a chance to rescue this apparently damadged file?

or is it done if i just install XP service pack 1?

please help!
