rIGHT NOW UNFORTUNATELY, i'M RECORDING DIRECT TO THE SYSTEM DRIVE (i KNOW i KNOW) As to the format, I'm not exactly sure what you're referring to. I have a digi 002 with firewire connect to a dell 2.4 GHZ computer. I have no additional sound card (didn't think I needed one)

I hope i answered your questions.

Sounds like a few issues... a) get an approved FireWire card (an Adaptec 4300 works great), b) use an external FireWire or internal separate IDE drive, what's the DMA status of the disk controller in Device Manager (search the DUC and AnswerBase for DMA)?

He meant: Which firewire card do you have?

Problem goes away after restarting the computer.

Is this a known bug in 6.4?

This has to be fixed.

Haven't heard of it before ... sounds system related.

Start recording to a separate drive.

I stand corrected. the problem came back!

When I initially restarted I recorded some audio , saved - and closed the session. When I reopened, the audio was there. However once I continued to record -I repeated the same steps, and again, all my audio was gone. However every track is still in the audio files, just not on the tracks like they should be.

How can this be. I didn't change ANY other settings. I record once and it's fine. I record again, in it's nothing!!

My family's well being is depending on me getting THIS PROJECT done!

i have this problem too. its been going on a month or so and is really annoying. it started after i reinstalled windows and pt6.4. i went through all the instructions i could find for adjusting settings etc but it still happens. if you consolidate the regions before closing the session it may help. it works for me anyway. if you do a search of this forum for "some regions were removed" it will bring up another thread by King Fish whos also had this problem. there are a couple of other threads too but i cant find them. not much help to be found though, unfortunatly.
