gain,volume and boost on the bogner

Im just trying to get my head round this amp. gain obviously preamp gain. volume power amp output? Boost, I have no idea. I like to understand the controls and their particular interaction for a given amp.

I also presume like other amps, the presence is power amp brightness, and treble preamp brightness? thanks.

The ERXP manual sheds some light on the subject too!

"Boost - Simulates the Boost and Structure switches on the original amp. Setting Boost to 10 simulates both Boost and Structure switches on. A setting of 5 simulates Boost on/Structure off. A setting of 0 simulates both switches off."
