Default Switching Macs

I bought a new Pro Tools perpetual license for my new Mac Studio. Pro Tools will not launch. Do I need to deactivate all previous licenses from my old MacBook? Should I just report the old MacBook (still works) as unusable? I just want to authorize the new PT software and migrate all my old plugins to the new machine.

One license, one location.

You should have an iLok with the Pro Tools license on it. If you do not, then you're most likely using iLok cloud license.

Make sure new license is activated and moved to the physical iLok key.

If none of this seems applicable to your situation then more info is needed.

Trying to be helpful like its2loud…

If you are still stuck … that more information would include what version of Pro Tools… intro, artist, studio, ultimate. You said purchased so likely excludes intro, and perpetual excludes Artist.. but please confirm exactly what license you have because we sometimes see lots of confusion about that or folks buying/sold the wrong license.

What exact new iLok license shows up in your iLok account and has it been activated to a iLok or iLok cloud?

Pro Tools will not launch at all? Or you get a message about missing licenses? What exactly do you see on the screen?

What macOS version and what Pro Tools version?

Hi! First is to make sure iLok license manager is installed on your new mac, then if you're using a iLok key, please have it connected to your new computer, if not and you're using iLok cloud, then you need to open your iLok cloud session from there.

Please let us know as well what exact version of Pro Tools you're using and feel free to DM me your iLok account so I can check the exact status of your license.

Thanks,
Charles
