As for the frequency response, the theoretical response of a 192 kHz signal does go up to 96 kHz, bedfore aliasing occurs. The Digi specs state 20 kHz. Either that is an accurate value and the limiting factor is some component other than the converter, or it's simply a given value that was written in the spec sheet off the top of someone's head (a very popular practice, it seems). It probably isn't another filter in the converter. Having a gentle, high filter and then placing a brickwall filter at 20kHz would make absolutely no sense. There would be absolutely zero benefit to higher sample-rates. I have a hunch that filtering would be done in the output stages anyways. A Digi techie clearing this up would be nice. |
