Just suspend the groups by un-highlighting them. The you can change individual track settings.

If you would like to temporarily isolate control of a fader or pan etc within a grouped track, hold down the start key first then move the item. You can also right-click on the item such as a fader or pan etc to temporarily isolate from the group .

You can temporarily disable groups, I think it's (ctrl+shift+g).
You can also highlight the group in your group window and then choose delete group from the drop down group options menu.
You can also just hold left click on the group in your group window and then delete group from there.

All these scenarios will not delete the tracks or their automation....just their groups assignments.

There's plenty you can do to tracks EVEN if they remain grouped...it's all in the reference guide...check it out. Lots of neat tricks.
