I havefigured it out!
When the pre roll was on, but did not have a marker, I kept inserting time numbers to see if the maker would show up, but it never did. That was because after you put in a number and click an insert point, it defaults to 0000/00/00. You have to put in the number and click "enter" then it pops on.
