Random short "pop" noise with Pro Tools MBox
I recently got a Pro Tools MBox and it works great with my MacBook. I'm now trying to get it to work with my Windows 7 box so I can get down to just one audio interface for everything (ditching a Lexicon USB interface).
Anyway, I'm not trying to get Pro Tools to work, just going to use the ASIO driver with Ableton on the PC. On the inbound side there is a periodic (sometimes not for several seconds, then 1-2 per second for several cycles) pop noise. This noise is not present on the input signal (occurs whether anything is plugged in or not, regardless of gain setting on the MBox). It does not show up in the MBox mixer applet. It will show up in Ableton as well as in Window's "record" section under Manage Audio Devices. It is not present on the monitors. In other words, if I'm not tapping the "record stream" then it's never present. As I mentioned, this is Windows 7, 64 bit. The drivers are the latest, 1.0.19. I've tried the original drivers that came with the 8.0.4 Pro Tools CD and the results are the same. Open to suggestions as to what to look at next. I'm sure it's driver or something on my box, though I've not had this issue with my other audio interfaces, just this one, and it doesn't happen on the MBP.
