Hi All,

This really sucks to see this...for my situation:

PROBLEM: I have a VXA-1 Drive and have about 8 tapes to restore from back in the day. But of course, like a lot of you, now that I need to restore these projects, Mezzo Technologies has vaporized. I've called Glyph, Vise, Tandberg [who bought Exabyte, who bought Ecrix] and got nothing all around. I checked eBay for an iLok for Mezzo, and still nothing. I even called Retrospect who was the other big game in town when I had Mezzo, just to see if I could just get the raw data off my tapes. Still a No -go... I'm out of options on who to call, to even get one contact that worked at Mezzo to point me in a direction, or tell me a workaround...If any of you have that, I'm happy to do the legwork...

SOLUTION: To find ANYONE who has an iLok / working copy. I live in West LA, BUT I WILL DRIVE ANYWHERE IN THE STATE OF CA BETWEEN SAN DIEGO AND SAN FRANCISCO TO DO THIS. I'm willing to bring my rig if necessary, and of course, I'm happy to pay for your time. If you have Mezzo keyed to an iLok, I'm happy to rent it from you, if that's the easiest for you. Bottom line, I will do anything I need to do to get this stuff restored, and cause the least disruption for anyone who can help. I saw there was some gentleman from South Africa willing to send his around, but it seems the trail went cold...

My turn to RANT: If a company who is one of the major players, who sell to thousands of customers, then silently disappear in the night, then at least please release an unprotected version, or release a Keygen [I called Pace to see if they had a record, or the algorithm Mezzo used for help, but no love...] or anything to not leave a large customer base high and dry. This is unprecedented in all my years to see this. I'm lucky I have a mere 8 tapes. I've read what many of you who need to restore 150+ tapes...with no answers.

Anything, large or small that can get me closer find a solution, and I will be forever in your debt. Thank you all in advance for any info you might have. And of course, if I find an answer, I'll post it for you guys to help, as well...

Mark

Email me if you like I might be able to help out. I have a couple of Mezzo iLok assets, I could put one on an iLok and then send it to you. I am located in Sydney Australia but it would not take long to get to you if we fedex etc. I have 4.7 and 4.6 assets.
email me on "simon at trackdown dot com dot au"
This is a PITA. I don't even know if it will work on Leopard machines.

Hi,

I have a working (did it ever work?) copy of Mezzo 4.7.4 installed on my computer (iLok Auth). I'm in Studio City, CA. Let me know if I can be of some assistance.

Thanks Guys,

Peter, since it works on your machine, and you're local, maybe it would be better if I came by to your place first. I'll contact you offline to set up what works for you.
Sleadley, I appreciate it, but would feel terrible if FedEx lost it or somethin. but if all else fails, I'll email you for sure...

Mark

I also really need to rent/Borrow the iLok to unearth 60GBs that I have on a back up drive.
Is it possible to rebuild the directory file as I only have that main backed up data pile?
My contact: [email protected]

What a crime. Thanks

HI StefB, I know you tried to help I was next after Dan, but never heard a thing back after you sent it to him.!! Just my luck if I would have got there first my job would be done (months ago) and some other DUC used would have been well underway .. I hope nothing bad has happen to Dan but if not then this is really bad news..
