Well, I had a similar feeling, I have annual renewing, but the credit card is being charged monthly. Which is more expensive. But if I'd change now, the yearly subscription and charging would be at a higher price because the black sales are over now. I'll have to stick with it until in 1 years time. Maybe I can control it then.
The 20% off subscription sale has been extended to Dec 3

Unbelievable that some users are actually complaining about this. Totally unbelievable. I guess there are just some people that will look to complain about anything. Professional software subscription plans are necessary. For Pro Tools Vanilla it's just $99 a year which is a majority of us here. That is very reasonable for a year of support and upgrades. To have free software on top of that is a gift.

If you don't want an extra year of support and upgrades no one is forcing you to pay the annual fee.

Agreed,

Jeffro already said within a week and that was yesterday so please have patience, It comes when it comes and there is nothing anyone can do to change that.

Why is it inconceivable that people complain? It's only logical. When Avid started this whole subscription/yearly fee for updates thing, their reasoning was that they can add big new features at any time, rather than just at initial releases. I'd be totally happy to pay if they actually stuck to this promise. But frankly this is not what I'm seeing. There are some cool features added at the start of the year, and the rest of the year is bug fixes and small improvements.

I know that at the end of the day we have a choice to make. I was simply pointing out that I see this move for what it is - a new carrot to subscribe when it's become clear that the original reason has simply not been honoured. I think I'm within my rights to point this out, and my advice to people is to not fall for it, because it's better to buy the instrument outright rather than have it tied to a sub that you have no option but to keep running, otherwise your projects that use it won't load anymore even if you have a perpetual license for PT itself.

Yeah whatever dude. That is your opinion, mine is that there has been a lot of great features added this year and the stability has improved aswell so complaining about getting another VI included in the support plan is not a bad thing as you clearly have opted to believe.

You have to look at all sides, last update (10) didn't bring anything to Vanilla

Agree but when did Avid say that every release was gonna include new features?

For the measly $99 a year ... A YEAR the non HD/Ultimate option is the deal of the century with plugins and VI added several times this year.

And it was the same for us HD plan users when Vanilla got a lot of love in the start of the year and we got zilch!
