It is a buyer's market for sure.

For me to spend something like $99 or more on a plugin it has to be pretty special or have a real pedigree. Something like the Phoenix II plugin did the job.

For example, I'm sure this Phil's Cascade plugin from Plugin Alliance is nice and they need to recoup their R&D costs but I likely won't be parting with $99 for it. Plus we know it will likely be the same price or cheaper before too long. And as it is I have a plethora of colour boxes to choose from already.

If it was $29-49 with my voucher considered, I'd be taking a serious look. As it is I can afford to wait.

Pretty much sums it up. I have HG2. I still have my unused November voucher, so that would bring me down to $74. I might try it. The HG2 has made it's way into everything I've done since I got it.

Happened to me as I type this. Luckily it was okay yesterday so I could download the new revision of the bundle. Something similar happened the other day with Audio Deluxe where a whole bunch of us were locked out of our accounts and getting an error message that our ip addresses were blocked because of too many failed logins from said address. Going to drop them a support ticket as well.

As far as Phil's Cascade goes (who is Phil anyways?) between my heavy hitter discount and voucher it would drop down to $49. With the demos on the PA site I'm not really sold on the sound and besides that to me it's too fiddly with all the controls. What this box looks like whoever was the designer is a ham radio op and had a significant amount of parts and such lurking about his shack and decided to see what he could come up with. I should know - been there/done that call sign N2MPU.

I really want to see if Fabfilter will do a sale from their site where they take into account what plugins of theirs one already owns. They do that already but every once in a while they really cut the price down. I know I'm being a cheap sob but funds for me have gotten real tight this last month.

Hey Jack. I've been demoing it. If you already have other distortion plugs from PA like the Vertigo you won't miss this. Controls make dialing in the specific frequencies more precise than the Vertigo but that's about it as far as I'm concerned.

Thanks for the reply - I do have the Vertigo VSM3 and for saturation/overdrive it's become my go-to. I got the SPL Twin Tube from PA last month but haven't done much with it; hopefully that will cover my tube-flavored saturation needs. If not the HG2 is on my want list.

Black Box is essential! Been on my mix buss a good bit since I got it months ago.

Same thing here with the SPL Twin Tube. Bought it recently. Not much use yet.

Vertigo is on my list. Like the sounds it gave me and a different flavour to BB. A little too complex in the control department for my taste. Black Box is far simpler which suits me or one can get lost in Tweaksville

Anyhow, waiting till Vertigo goes lower or I decide I can part with the $$$

Yep - it's always the 'fine print' that snags one. I still haven't pulled the trigger on anything yet but am playing out some scenarios and strageties.
