Editing
I just started transferring 25 years worth of analog recordings into Pro Tools to be cleaned up and archived. What's the best way to clean-up noise between tracks; clicks, pops, hiss, etc?

Re: Editing
One idea is to play around with the strip silence function. This allows you to set a threshold to get rid of hiss etc. and 'pad' beginnings and ends of tracs to preserve transients and fades/ring-outs
Hope this helps Rasmus Schwenger |

Re: Editing
HOLY S#*#!!! 25 years worth? You can just zoom in on those problem areas and cut them out too!! Or you can automate mutes. Looks like either way you go, your gonna be there a looo-ooong while!

Re: Editing
Waves Restoration Bundle is the best way. It does amazing things. You can get it for 14 day trial. If you spend the time to load the audio into a session then download the demo you might get it all finished in 2 weeks.
It will remove clicks, pops, noise, etc. |
