That's what I was wondering as well. Never had this problem when the 192 i/0 was in the rack in place of the Avid i/o 16x16.

I'm going to check the grounding switches on the RedCo patchbays and see if something got changed....somehow?

Do you have to boot / run in safe Mode every time you start up to use HDX ?

My HDX is running ok here on my 12 core Westmere, but I have a friend that just bought an HDX card, put it on his Nehelam 8 Core, and he can't get through 5 minutes at a buffer of 1024 with 6 tracks of audio without the CPU conflict error.

I'm about to go over there and help him troubleshoot.

Have him put the processors down to 6. It's seems to help

It'll be a real drag if he has to run his machine in Safe Mode full time, I've read on Apples site all of the disabled functionality that could be a drag.

You other guys, your full time solution, is to always be running in Safe mode ?

No! You don't have to run it in Safe Mode. Just clock back the processors in Pro Tools to half of what the Mac is. This causes Pro Tools to not Multi-Thread.

Gotta say, can't un an 8 Core Westmere set to 8 of 16 CPU's at 85% OR 99% with an HDX card, and use any 3rd party soft Synths, like Omnisphere, Alicia's Keys, or Massive without having to run a buffer of 512, or 1024 (Which make the latency impossible to play), and STILL even at those High buffers, spit up 9171 CPU and even 9073 (Can't get audio from disk" WITH the timeline cached...errors.

Not sure if they are related to these 9129 errors in this thread , but if I pull the card, the same session runs Natively, all day long at 128 Buffer. or with an HD Accel Card, no problems.

I've always had this problem with HDX - Not nearly as stable as HD Accel
