Default Pro Tools 11/10 for under $400?

So on ebay I am seeing a bunch of listings like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/AVID-PRO-TOO...item418321cedc

Why is the price so low and what is the catch? Sweetwater other stores sell this for $699. Are these "legal" copies? I currently own a pre-owned copy of pro tools 8 le that was registered before I got it so the LE to 11 upgrade path doesn't apply. When I moved to a nice macbook pro my copy wasn't able to run on my OS (Mountain Lion) so I'm looking to upgrade to PT11.

It's risky. If it is legit, it probably doesn't include the support plan.

You can find Pro Tools 11 brand new from a legit retailer for less than that. Check out the "deal of the week" from Audiodeluxe.com

Possibly no catch (but is it really the deal you think it is?), the seller likely acquired this from some retail dealer. Possibly somebody flushing old retail stock because Pro Tools 12 is coming out soon.

As always your best protection on EBay is the seller's feedback/reputation. This one also seems to be able to intelligently answer questions on this item.

Ah I checked it up, $329! But I've never heard of that company. Also I'd still need to buy an ilok.

I'm mainly just doing some pricing research. I really want to get pro tools 11 mainly because it's what I learned and what I'm used to. I've tried other daws and it just didn't feel the same.

I've used that eBay seller before and all turned out good :)

Audiodeluxe is reliable, but you may have to wait a business day for your serial key. With the added cost of the iLok, the total is less than the eBay listing, with no risk.

I have 2 x unused Pro Tools 10 + 11 software license Activation Card for sale for $199 each. More info at http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=365318

This 100% legit and there is no catch, you can read exactly what you get and what you don't get.

Actually what I state on Buy & Sell has been confirmed by JC from Avid Customer Care, because at first I tried to sell these same Pro Tools 10 + 11 software license Activation Cards announcing it included a support plan and a free upgrade to Pro Tools 12, but I was corrected by JC and my thread has been removed. Now the info is 100% correct.

So Pro Tools 10 + 11 without a one year support plan and no free upgrade to Pro Tools 12 for $199? If this is what you are looking for, yes, it can.
