Songs sound distorted on Youtube TV

When I upload songs to YouTube I have recorded in ProTools 11 they sound fine on any computer. However, when I listen to the songs on YouTube via the YouTube app on my Roku, all of the songs sound very distorted. No other songs sound on YouTube, from other artists, sound distorted on my TV. Only my songs sound this way.

I am uploading the videos to YouTube in 24 bit quality via a bounced WAV file. Is there something I am doing wrong in the upload that makes it distorted through the Roku? I cannot understand why my songs sound distorted through the TV but all other songs on YouTube sound fine.

I am using the Roku because my TV is not a smart TV with built in apps. Could this perhaps be the problem? (Maybe the TV is too old?)

YouTube tends to muck with the audio in weird ways. One way to get better sound is to pay attention to how YT wants the files formatted and so on. On a lot of videos on YT you get better sound, at least when watching, using one of the HD variants. I'd seriously look at the way YT wants things for the best sound. I gather you're using the ROKU so you don't have to watch on your computer right? I don't know about that device bit if it has an HDMI connector and your TV does then use that as the interconnect.

Combine that with the compression YT puts on and that's a recipe for disaster.

Could you explain to me what this means?

I am using Ozone 5 to master my tracks. Would this "crush" my masters?

Just don't over compress/limit your track, don't push it too loud, let it breathe, loud is relative, maybe this video have some answer, I haven't seen it yet

Another sad happenstance with overcompressing tunes is it screws up the tonal balance something fierce. Been there and been a victim if that. For reference see Metallica's Death Magnetic album (the cd and not any of the digital downloads).

That's true, I remember someone's podcast or blog talking about how the versions from that album that were used in Rockband (a music game) sounded better than the CD.
