Default Becoming an AVID registered developer

Hi,

I have applied to become an RTAS developer several times with no response, even though the site says that they usually reply within ten days.

Does anyone know who I should contact? Other developers I've spoken to about it said they had to asks friends who worked at AVID. Unfortunately i don't have any friends at AVID!

Please get in touch if you know how I can get AVID to respond to my requests. Even a "no" would be better than nothing.

thanks very much,

oli larkin

Because you're not using the proper channel. This is a user forum, that sometimes is being reviewed by DST when he has the time to do it. You should go into the career section of Avid's website and see if there's an opening there.

http://www.avid.com/US/careers

And I know you said you had already applied, but unless there's a position that is available you might not get any feedback from it.

the point is i tried the proper channel

http://www.avid.com/US/partners/audi...in-dev-program

...but avid don't seem to pay any attention to applications made through that channel. So I hoped that here there might be a few avid insiders here who could advise me who to contact.

I've checked with developer services and they have your application and will get back to you shortly. There's currently quite a backlog due to a lot of things happening here that affect developers (Lion support, for instance). So - hang tight. They're on the case...

Does that mean Avid is actually working on Lion support in Protools before Apple releases Lion to the general public? I'm just razzing ya, Avid. I know you guys are busy working on this stuff. Sometimes, because you can't discuss topics before they are released, and the long time until compatibility is certified when a new OS comes out, it appears to the public that Avid does not start work until the general release is available. Let's try to get this Lion compatibility version out in a reasonably short period to keep the early adopters happy. You know that there will be some folks that will upgrade to Lion before Avid certifies it and then they'll come here and complain and whine because it doesn't work.

Back on topic: I think the OP was not asking to be a developer for Avid (employed by Avid) but rather how to be a registered third party developer for RTAS plugins. Or am I totally missing the point?
