I am also having the problem. It just started happening today for no apparent reason. I haven't updated anything in at least a week.
Could not complete the Import Audio command because Assertion in "/Volumes/Development/153787/ProTools/NewFileLibs/Cfd/MacBuild/ ../MacOS/Cfd_ImportAudioDialogMacOS.mm", line 559. Mac OS X 10.11 Pro Tools HD 11.3.2 Happens on both Built-in Output and Mbox2Pro.
