I Have Mbox 2 And Pro tools wont record my vocals..HELP??

Hi, I am new to the pro tools and just set up my studio in my house. I have pro tools le 8 with Mbox 2 with USB and I have an AKG Perception 420 mic. My friend came over and after housr of playing with the mbox he got it to pick up the vocals in pro tools. Now it wont work. I can hear the vocals in my headphones ,but pro tools isnt picking up the vocals. I have the "monitor" knob turned all the way to the left, the mix knob all the way left, and where it says "mono" and "48v", i have both of those buttons pushed in. Can somebody tell me how to get pro tools to pick up my vocals?

Check you i/o's. If it's your second track, the input will default to the second channel. Make sure it's on the same one that your mic is plugged in to.

I can hear the vocals when i speak in to the mic in my headphones,but pro tools isnt pickin up the levels. I thought it was maybe something i was doing wrong on the mbox hardware, but i will try checking the I/O when i get home. thanks
