Re: -9155 'too much automation' error message
Hi folks,
any news on this? I still have this issue with 10.2 HD under OSX 10.7.3. I can only restart the whole machine, because when the error "too much automation" appears, I can't save my session and PT is not running anymore. Not even by pushing the space bar. It all appears when the error first pops up. Thanks for your help. Eric |

Re: -9155 'too much automation' error message
After our upgrade to HDX 10.2 on OSX 10.7.4 with, we're seeing fewer -9155 errors, but they do remain. It doesn't force a restart, though. We can continue after pressing the OK button. But after that first instance, the error pops more frequently. We can get through maybe 4, 90-minute playbacks without the error. Of course the playback with the Director fails.
This bug is called PTSW-158618 and the last word I had from Avid support was that the 10.2 release might fix it. But that hasn't proved true. Some consolation that Avid's aware of the problem. We get the error on sessions with a single audio track without plugins. |

Re: -9155 'too much automation' error message
Just had this error for the first time. I started a new session, drag-n-drop an .mp3 file onto a stereo track and hit play. I got 10 seconds in when I got the error, so obviously not an automation error. Updated to 10.3 last week and haven't heard from anyone about problems on any session so far, so this is the first error on our HDX2 system. I had copied the .mp3 from a thumb drive onto an internal hard drive and did the drag and drop from the internal drive. When I dismounted the thumb drive (with the session still open) the errors went away. I haven't closed the session or utilized the thumb drive for anything other than getting the mp3 onto the qualified Mac, but all seems good for now
Very strange, but I hope that helps someone |

Re: -9155 'too much automation' error message
Why don't you try "Thin All Automation"?

Re: -9155 'too much automation' error message
New session, 1 imported .mp3 track and you think thin all automation will help? Sounds like more than just that, but thanks, I'll try it.

Re: -9155 'too much automation' error message
i installed various osx versions in the last couple of days and out of nothing this -9155 appeared.
changing automation thinning in the preferences didn´t help thin all automation data didn´t help clear all automation didn´t help but changing the processors from 7 to 11 did help
