Default 8 channel digital io Digi Interface would be nice!

Hi!

I want to get more digital I/O in my mixplus systems but the only option is the 888 interface. I'd be paying a lot of money for A-D's and D-A's that I'd never use on it.

Why don't digi make an inexpensive spdif/aes 1u interface for inserting outboard digital effects gear? It's got to be easy from a hardware point of view and would make expanding the digital i/o less of a new mortgage job.

Robin

All Digi community is asking the same since a long time Robin ! For the moment use an 888/16 which passes 24bit digital signal.

Thanks, Steve - is 888/16 ok with MixPlus?

Alternatively is there an external box that receives/sends 4 x spdifs and can send/receive the same via ADAT digital pipe? That way the ADAT bridge could maybe be used?

Bruce - can you comment?

Robin

Yes, the 888/16 is fine; you will find many threads about alternative solutions using ADAT bridge and the like, but I found the most cost-effective solution is to buy (eventually multiple) 888/16.
