Thumbs down Recording early issue in 8.04cs2

Hi all

Here is part of the release notes for 8.04cs2:

Quote:
On Windows, Pro Tools LE was recording audio to the timeline early by approximately twice the H/W buffer size. (PTSW-130757)

* Audio was recorded early depending on the hardware buffer size selected. This problem was specific to Pro Tools LE 8.0.4 on Windows. Fixed in the included Pro Tools LE Avid Audio Drivers installer.

I have XP and 8.04cs2.
I did a session yesterday recording keyboards and the issue was most certainly still there.
Had a H/W Buffer size of 1024 samples.
After the keys had been tracked I had to push it back by 2048 samples to make it in time.

It was not a player issue as I then tested it with a microphone, singing along to a song I know well. Same issue.

I'm currently using a:
2.8GHz AMD Athlon 64 Dual Core
4GB DDR2 RAM
Mbox 2 Mini

Running Windows XP Professional.

My click track also just decided to stop working, then start working using a different tempo, then stop working again. It was like that for about a week and thankfully rectified itself, without me doing anything, just in time for the session.

Should I try a fresh install? Or maybe just a fresh install of the drivers? How would I do just the drivers?

Any help would be appreciated.
This is a serious issue and I'm actually contemplating going back to 7.4 as I had ZERO issues with that version.

Thanks.

If you're still getting early placement, then I would guess you still have an earlier buggy driver installed. Check driver version in Device Manager.

Its a bit fiddly to get the right driver working. You could try grabbing the driver being pushed as part of the PT9 release. I think its the latest and maybe work with 8.04cs2.

Mike.
