Default consolidation of media

Greetings from upside down soundies. Whatever happened to consolidation of media (with handles), as it was in Av 3.6. Currently running Av 4.1 with lots o gig, Am I missing something here?
Still love Av as preferred tool, wish that digi would get in touch about modifications, Could be heaps better without too much code crunching.

It's still there! Just hold down shift & control when going to the clip menu where it says backup project, and consolidate will be there instead!

Try using the Back Up function. It works great for me. Brings all the pieces together in one spot for easy back up to tape.

For most reliable results, use the back up command as opposed to the consolidate option.

Thanks,

Why is Back up more reliable than consolidate, Jon? If I don't want to back up any more than is necessary, surely consolidate is more efficient?

Jerome, you are correct but I'm referring to the reliability of each function as opposed to the functionality.

The reason that the consolidate function is "hidden" is becuase we had seen problems that we were unable to track down at the time.

Though the backup command may not be as practical it is more consistent and/or reliable than using the hidden consolidate option.

In other words, be careful when using the hidden consolidate option.

Thanks,

Jon Connolly
