Default Upgrade to Protools HD ?

Hi everybody

I am running Protools 11.3 on my iMac with an M-Box 3 audio card
Last christmas i bought a brand new Avid Omni Native (alone)
Last week i bought a second hand AVID Native PCIe card (for 1000 €)

Could i crossgrade my register Protools 11.3 to an HD version ?
I did not find the solution on AVID store or Sweetwater website

I am french and may be did not understand how to do

Many thanks
sincerely yours

Maxidingue

No. You unfortunately cannot upgrade plain Pro Tools to Pro Tools HD.

Pro Tools HD is purchased from Avid as part of a HD hardware bundle only.

Avid used to offer upgrades from Pro Tools to Pro Tools HD if you also had a CPTK (complete production tool kit) license but it looks like that program has ended, or at least I no longer see it in the Avid store.

Some people do sell their own HD licenses (on iLoks because they are not transferable). Many people have purchased those, but you may be taking some risk with availability of future Avid support/upgrades if you do that.

Also, if you buy the lowest cost PTHD system (OMNI) you face the trouble of being able to only use one OMNI in the system, another one being a spare part.

You can buy versions of PTHD 10/11 easily on eBay. I think one is available now in the classifieds here.

You can also buy a copy of PTHD9 on eBay, and upgrade that to PTHD10/12 for 599.00.

Yes indeed. I have an unregistered 11HD package for sale in the Buy&Sell section

And factoring in the chance you might get ripped off? Make sure you know what you are buying and from a reputable source. Avid is not going to help you in any way if you get ripped off trying to buy a license from a non-dealer.

Not only that^^^, but how MUCH cheaper? If its a little, maybe I need to adjust my price. If its a lot, somebody might be trolling for a sucker(don't be a sucker). I am constantly amazed by the number of people that are trying to sell "less than legal" software on craigslist and eBay If it sounds too good to be true........
