Default Avid lets 200 people go :(

Avid “celebrates” its 20th birthday by letting 200 people go. No joke, and definitely no joking matter. The losses have taken place across marketing and customer support.


Edit.. I see poster "Pluck" posted this earlier in the "Hope you're Happy Guys" thread.

I hope that DTS is still here as well.. Above anyone else at Avid for that matter..

The sad part is that it's not the under preforming people that were let go., they're still drawing six-figure salaries... instead they drew from the rank-and file.

In the past week, he's been working 12 hour days trying to put out Avid's fires. His thanks was a pink slip.

Wow.. Seems with Avid loyalty is worth jack. I wonder how deep this shake up is going to go. These are unpredictable times Worlwide.

How many tech support/programmer jobs could have been saved by firing one executive who hasn't a single clue about audio or video production?
