Default Magma PE6R4_1 DAE 1115 error

A preemptive thank you to any of you fine folk's who may help.
I just upgraded to a 2.66 ghz 12 core MacPro and in doing so required a Magma PE6R4_1 to house my HD cards, PCI, 1 core, 2 process and have been working my way down the list of trouble shooting advice I've culled from the internet (DUC, Avid knowledge base and e-mail and phone support from Magma)
Starting I first connected the Magma as showen on the supplied forms and Avids instructions on-line, then to the system profiler to see if the chassie was bening seen, yes, then ran the Digitest and got a DSI 1115 error, quit that and attemted to launch PT and got a DAE 1115 error. Checked all cableing and seating (the 192 was being seen, flashing lights going solid)
So the the process of elimination, different slots for the host card (Magma recomends slot 4, furthest form the video card) Removed the process cards and tried PT with just the core and in various slots, finally un-installing PT and re-installing all without sucsess and always a Digitest error 1115 or a PT DAE error 1115.
I am of corse still working with Magma (their in Cal so I'll wait till their in the office in a couple of hours) but any pearls of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

the studio A machine has that same chassis and my slot config is Slot 1: GFX Card, Slot 2: Magma Chassis, Slot 3: ATTO Fibre Card, Slot 4: Blackmagic Intensity Pro Video Card.

Obviously, the fibre and Blackmagic card mean nothing to you but I put the chassis next to the video card despite magmas reccomendations because that card has the highest bandwidth connection possible (even if the magma cant use it)

Works a treat, my mac pro is a 2009 though, not a 2010.

Hi,

My card is in slot 4 (farthest from the video card) and has been fine. this is a 2008 harpertown.

My core card is in the slot closest to the PSU in the chassis!!

Are you sure you didn't accidently damage the core card during the transfer!! this is quite common.

Examine the card closely and see if there's any components you can see have been knocked off.

Can you borrow a core card from someone? this would help eliminate the card as the problem.

obviously keep it simple when troubleshooting and keep to just the core card and 1 interface.

I guess Magma will have to swop you another chassis to check.

I recently did the same, went for an 8 core 2.26 and the Magma. I put the host card in the FIRST slot, UAD Quad in the second, third is open. In the chassis, core first and then Accel card. It all worked fine. BTW, when I ran DigiTest, there was a failure but I believe it was related to the i/o - I'm using Apogee AD/DA16x and xHD cards. Hope this isn't related to the 6 core. Best...H

Pulled my hair out too but solved, see my post. This happened on two machines but slot 2 is the fix as Avid recommends.

Well my friends it's been a tough week.
The chassis was returned and I received a new one, I've followed the Avid list of recommendations on the DAE error 1115 to the letter, I have checked and double checked every conceivable seating, software compatibility and have run the system as barebones as posable (the only success I've had was running the PT once I had connected a usb mouse, no bluetooth according to avid, only to find it wasn't seeing the 192 or chassis)
Any insight or experiences with this error would be HUGELY appreciated
Feel free to chime in Tech Support.
Thanks Mark

After many hours of continued trouble shooting (boy I'm persistent) I took the new Magma upstairs to a friends studio and plugged it into his older 8 core Mac Pro and bingo, it works!
I got some tech support form Avid last night ($79, although this has been refunded because the problem was not solved...yet) and the answer we are hoping is a timing realignment of the cards. An educated guess tells me that the differing buss speeds of the new 12 core Mac Pro and the PCI cards have caused this error.
When my cards return I'm hoping to give a positive prognosis.
