ProTools HD and 888|24

I've been using 888|24 hanginging on the legacy port of 192 successfully for awhile but recently after upgrading to ver. 7.1 or 7.2 I started experiencing problems where PT doesn't recognize the 888. Taking it off and than back on in the hardware setup cures it sometime but not always and even than the problem shows up again on the next system restart. The problem occurs on different systems, with different hardware and different versions (always 7.x).
Does anyone else experience this problem?
