Default How do I fix clipped audio recording?

Hi,

I have some old recording I did 9 years ago that I'm revisiting for remix. My problem is that some parts of the vocal is clipped because of me recording hot. I have tried re-drawing the clipped peaks but to no avail. Is there a way for me to fix this without re-tracking since I would like to keep the continuity of time frame.?

http://www.adobe.com/products/audition.html

Adobe Audition can do wonders.
But I hate the subscribe plan...

Better to go with RX & Ilok.

Maybe Wavelab can do the same... was the direct competitor of Audition.
Steinberg has eLicenser, not as advanced as Ilok, but better than Adobe subscribe/rent "you own nothing." Plan.
http://www.steinberg.net/en/products/wavelab/start.html

With eLicenser is better to have a USB for each License... And a very nice USB2.0 hub.
I wish Steinberg would drop eLicenser and embrace Ilok. "does not have safe remove this USB device in Windows"
Also Adobe should embrace Ilok.

hi Juan,

thanks for replying as well as recommending other products; audio restore tools is somewhat new to me. I did like the Izotope tools but I would be willing to check out others should opportunity arise. Thank you once again!

Agreed on the subscription plan - that's why I froze my Audition install on the version just before they went to the sub model. Sure it means I'm missing some of the new features and updates but I get by with what I have.

And as far as fixing clipped recording - yes AA can do a great job. Something to be aware of is that at least on my older version when you have it fix clipped samples it not only fixes those but it also lowers the levels in the rest of the sound file. Not a huge issue if you're aware of it and it keeps the formerly clipped levels relative to the rest of the file.
